Companies 'should consult with workforce on employee benefits'
Businesses across the UK have been advised to provide more information to their workforce regarding what employee benefits they can apply for.
Sheila Attwood, pay and benefits editor at XpertHR, said more companies now understand the advantage of highlighting benefit packages as a potential recruitment and retention tool.
"[As an employer, you could] use employee engagement surveys to find out which benefits employees value and which they don't, as well as using data to monitor take-up levels," she commented.
Ms Attwood added that by doing so, companies can swap benefits that employees do not use to ensure they are providing the best possible package to keep their staff motivated and content.
Research from the Boston Consulting Group recently showed that businesses which demonstrate excellent skills in HR practices experience revenue growth that is up to 3.5 times higher than those firms which do not view this area as a priority.
