UK firms 'finding many reasons to hire interim managers'

Companies in the UK are finding a number of different reasons to hire interim managers in the current business climate.

This is according to Marc Lawn, managing director of consultancy service, who said prevailing economic uncertainty means firms need to react to rapidly evolving business circumstances.

As such, this has created a "desire for companies and individuals alike to have flexible working relationships/arrangements", said the expert.

Other benefits include the fact that interims can provide access to cross-industry expertise and a consultancy-style resource, offering practical experience in "delivering solutions in an embedded business environment".

Recent figures from the Interim Management Association show a sharp spike in the value of the interim recruitment industry over the last five years.

Mr Lawn has previously stated that interims can provide companies with rapid access to high-quality talent and expertise, making it easy for employers to move ahead quickly with new projects or turn difficult situations around.
