Public sector bodies appointing interim managers

14 May 2009

Interim managers are proving to be in demand among various public sector organisations in the UK.

This week, 4Ps, the project delivery arm of the Local Government Association, appointed Richard Buxton as its new chief executive.

Mr Buxton, who has previously held senior roles at a number of local authorities and charity groups, will be in charge of establishing the new partnership between 4Ps and Partnership UK, which will come into force later this year.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Buxton said he was "delighted" to be given the task of delivering significant infrastructure and service projects within the local government sector.

The announcement comes a few days after NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney appointed Dr Paul Zollinger-Read as its interim chief executive.

Chairman of the trust David Edwards said Mr Zollinger-Read was hired on the strength of his "skill and experience".

This, he stated, would help ensure stability throughout the current transitional period.
