Outsourcing professional development 'can offer many benefits'
Outsourcing professional development functions to external partners can provide companies with a range of competitive advantages.
This is according to Martyn Hart, chairman at the National Outsourcing Association (NAO), who stated that this practice can be "instantly beneficial" due to the expertise, motivation and ideas it can bring to a company.
Small firms can draw particular advantages from this strategy due to its cost-effectiveness, while the investment in staff can also help to improve loyalty among employees.
Mr Hart also noted that innovation of this kind will be particularly crucial at a time when many firms are stagnating due to the tough economic conditions.
"Outsourcing puts you in touch with truly relevant expertise and an ongoing relationship with the training company means they get to know your company and its needs, tailoring solutions to best effect," he said.
