Outsourcing 'can help companies focus on what's important'

British companies that adopt an outsourcing strategy could benefit from a better focus on the most important elements of their business.

This is according to Martyn Hart, chairman of the National Outsourcing Association (NOA), who states that it has become more vital than ever for companies to concentrate on generating profit, given the competition in the market.

As such, essential but tangential functions such as accounting, human resources and IT have become something of a distraction, diverting attention away from bottom-line issues such as customer satisfaction and new business wins.

Mr Hart said outsourcing offers the ideal solution, allowing non-core functions to be delegated to a specialist that is able to handle the processes more effectively than would be possible in-house.

"Outsourcing frees up resources to be the best you can be in the business you are truly in," he explained.

According to an October 2011 report from TPI, the size of the European outsourcing market rose to a record level in the third quarter of the year.
