Odgers Interim's combined Sports, Gaming and Media practice

29 August 2017

Odgers Interim's combined Sports, Gaming and Media practice

Bambos Eracleous, Partner, will lead Odgers Interim's combined Sports, Gaming and Media practice, as it increases its presence across the three sectors.

Bambos will work with rights holders and businesses across sport, as well as gaming and media companies, to place interim candidates into senior management roles across all functions and programme and project management positions.

Interims are typically hired for their industry experience and specialist knowledge to help organisations through particular periods of transition, crisis or change.

Based in the London office, Bambos has led Odgers Interim’s Government practice for the past 7 years and has over 15 years’ experience in the recruitment industry.

He has previously placed interim executives into a number of sports organisations and governing bodies, as well as helping to recruit senior staff in the lead-up to London 2012 while on secondment to the Olympic Delivery Authority.

Bambos Eracleous, Partner in the Sports, Gaming and Media practice at Odgers Interim, said: “Odgers Interim is leading the way when it comes to offering a dedicated interim service to clients across these specialist industries. Interims are already used regularly within the media industry, but now sports organisations in particular are now keen to bring in skills from a variety of different backgrounds. There is similar demand within the gaming industry, as continued growth creates a significant number of assignments for interim executives."

“Businesses will need reliable and effective leadership if they’re to take advantage of these unique opportunities. It’s becoming an increasingly crowded market, and hiring an experienced interim manager can provide a competitive edge.”

Grant Speed, Managing Director of Odgers Interim, said: “It’s a great time to invest in the sports and gaming sectors. We’ve already been working with businesses that are looking further afield for the right skills to deliver their commercial goals and by creating a combined practice, we can continue to provide the best quality candidates."

“We have a diverse talent pool, made up of interims from a range of industry backgrounds and I’m confident we can help meet client’s needs. From overseeing digital projects to identifying new income opportunities, interims are a valuable leadership resource.”
