Managers 'should ensure working space is comfortable'

Providing a comfortable and well-managed office for employees can help improve productivity and staff retention as well as making a company a more desirable place to work, according to a new survey.

Entitled Working in London 2012, the report from London-based property developer DeVono indicated just under half of respondents felt that office temperature was crucial to how comfortable they were at work.

DeVono co-director Adam Landau told HR Magazine: "Business bosses are quickly realising that by offering the best working environments they are likely to gain better performances from existing staff."

He added that this is also one of the most effective ways of ensuring outstanding candidates apply for new roles.
