Interim managers recommended for HR services
Appointing an interim manager to oversee the HR department can help businesses to avoid ongoing external consultancy fees, an expert has claimed.
In a recent article for Fresh Business Thinking, HR consultant Phil Clarke explained how an interim appointment can have many advantages in this area, particularly where smaller companies are concerned.
"[Interim executives] are highly experienced and used to adding value from day one, providing direction and leadership with the expectation of delivering tangible results," he said.
Mr Clarke also used the website to point out that the use of an interim HR manager can "shift to a part-time or ad hoc basis" once planned changes have taken place and best practice has been established within the organisation.
"Investing in HR expertise in the early stages of growth is critical to efficiency and good business performance," he added.
Last month, an Accountancy Age article explained how small businesses may opt to appoint an interim manager for tax services, as an alternative to bringing such functions in-house.
