Interim manager notes impact on businesses

7 May 2009

An interim manager has spoken of the impact he has had on businesses that have used his services.

Mark Edwards stated that he had been able to go in on a short contract and make a "big change" to clients before moving onto a new project.

Speaking to Personnel Today, he said he found it very rewarding to see the resulting transformations and how this benefited the businesses in question.

Mr Edwards noted that these goals were achieved by making sure he had a clear budget and a set of targets that could be delivered within a set period of time.

Carole Harden, an interim executive for more than a decade, added that interims are typically highly experienced and confident specialists.

This comes after a poll by Financial Director magazine found that nearly a third of FDs are thinking of becoming a turnaround director at some point in the future.
