Interim management enquiries up 18 per cent, says IMA
The number of enquiries for interim managers grew by 18 per cent in the first quarter of the year, according to the Interim Management Association's (IMA's) latest report.
Chairman of the organisation Jason Atkinson hailed the increase as evidence of a thriving sector, with the number of new assignments rising by 20 per cent during the same three-month period.
Conducted by Ipsos MORI on behalf of the IMA, the survey recorded an average of 79 interim management enquiries per member firm.
In addition, female interims accounted for 31 per cent for all assignments, up from 24 per cent in the previous quarter.
Mr Atkinson commented: "The UK's interim management sector is both established and well respected.
"In fact it is now worth £1.5 billion and this is an industry where Britain leads the world."
A previous survey published by the IMA found that the value of business generated by its members rose from £102 million in 2006 to £196 million last year.
