IMA reports rise in female interim managers
The number of women in interim management roles reached its highest ever level in the third quarter of the year, according to new figures.
Data from the Interim Management Association's (IMA's) quarterly Ipsos Mori market audit shows that 39 per cent of interim assignments were completed by female executives during the three-month period.
This represents a rise of ten per cent on the previous quarter, while the number of completed assignments by interim providers was up 11 per cent on the beginning of 2010.
Paul Botting, chairman of the IMA, told Recruiter that the organisation continues to encourage "a diverse mix of individuals" to seek employment in the interim management sector.
He added: "We hope to see this positive trend continuing its upward progression."
According to the association's annual market audit for 2009, female interims represented one-third of executives placed by IMA members over the course of the year.
In 2007, only 25 per cent of the IMA executives on assignment were women.
