Growth predicted for interim management sector

8 July 2013

The future of the interim management sector is positive, according to a new report.

Research conducted by Ipsos MORI on behalf of the Interim Management Association found the average number of new assignments undertaken by the organisation's members increased from 18 to 19 in the first quarter of 2013.

This is a continuation of the upward trend that has occurred since the middle of last year.

Public sector assignments are also becoming more commonplace, accounting for 43 per cent of total placements in the first three months of this year, compared to 28 per cent at the end of 2012.

These findings have been welcomed by Grant Speed - managing director of Odgers Interim - which has benefited from this increase in demand.

He stated: "Despite such challenging times, it's both positive and encouraging to see a 31 per cent increase in our turnover. More and more businesses are seeing the benefits of bringing in interim specialists from a skills and also a financial point of view.

"Our main focus is to now build on this success and to continue delivering real value to our clients by working hard to match the very best interims to every brief."
