Firms 'seeing benefits of outsourced cloud services'

10 May 2012

Companies in the UK are increasingly discovering the benefits of adopting outsourced cloud-based service models for their corporate IT.

This is according to Stuart Hibbert, chief executive officer and co-founder of technology firm icomplete.com, who said there are now multiple types of cloud options on offer to businesses of all sizes.

Benefits of using outsourced cloud services include improved security, as well as the fact it makes it easier to offer flexible home working options, a key priority ahead of the forthcoming London Olympics.

Mr Hibbert also noted that the expanding availability of broadband technology has also made it more viable for small companies to invest in the cloud.

He added: "Cloud services tend to be cheaper than actually creating your own infrastructure and running that. There are significant savings there. It means there is more flexibility."

Earlier this year, Accenture published a report offering a reminder that business process outsourcing must be managed correctly to succeed, particularly with regards to assessing strategic outcomes and change management issues.
