Executives 'should establish internet policy'
Given the fact that the majority of UK businesses are now connected to the internet it is important companies have policies in place regarding how their staff connect with the web, a consultancy firm has suggested.
Networking and communications company K3 Managed Services suggested that a well-planned usage policy can help ensure workers do not waste time online, as well as driving up data security.
Jason Price, head of sales at K3 Managed Services, told HR Magazine that many people are surprised when they find out how much of their bandwith is being taken up by employees using it for personal browsing.
"This poses a dilemma for managers as the internet and many social media websites are now an integral part of business operation," added the KW chief.
