Executives bid to increase productivity

19 December 2012

Managers are attempting to improve productivity levels across their organisation as the instability of the UK economy impacts their bottom line, a report has claimed.

According to the CEB, most firms are attempting to find 20 per cent more productivity from their staff, with the majority of executives suggesting the recruitment stage should be the first step in ensuring workers are capable of improving to this level.

The organisation highlighted several factors that suggest an employee will be able to live up to these standards, pointing out that being IT savvy, flexibility and the ability to work as part of a team are all crucial.

Global research officer Conrad Schmidt said: "The new work environment demands a fresh set of skills to ensure employees achieve peak productivity as the working landscape changes."

Dr Mark Winwood, clinical director for psychological health at AXA PPP Healthcare, recently suggested that well-trained line managers are crucial to business performance, reports HR Magazine.
