Executive search 'to recover in 2010'
Executive search firms, including those supplying interim managers, will have a better year in 2010, according to a leading industry figure.
Peter Felix, president of the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC), has suggested that the UK's executive recruitment market will recover next year, after a difficult 2009, Recruiter reported.
The head of the international professional body, which represents the executive search industry, explained that demand will "slowly, but surely" improve during the next 12 months.
Mr Felix did, however, suggest that an increase in executive appointments in the UK will trail recovery in the industry's global markets.
He told the website: "It is inevitable that top management will be assessing their market opportunities in the post-recession world and that gaps or weakness in senior management ranks will need addressing."
Last month, the AESC revealed that senior executive searches increased by 10.5 per cent in the third quarter of 2009 – with the technology, financial and consumer industries performing particularly well.
