Demand for interim managers returning to growth
Interim management recruitment is becoming an area of growth once again, according to a new report from the Institute for Interim Management.
Following a survey of interim business leaders in the UK, it was found that an increasing number of staff in this category are seeing a greater number of assignments and improvements in day rates and billed days.
This represents a reversal from the downturn in recruitment seen during the recession and a resumption of the growth rate observed prior to 2008.
Responding to the data, Jason Atkinson, chairman of the Interim Management Association (IMA), noted that the current turnover of the market is now well over £1 billion.
He added that it is important for the "skills, experience and personality" of interim staff to be matched to the correct job in order to deliver maximum value.
Earlier this year, data from an Ipsos MORI survey conducted by the IMA revealed that the number of new interim assignments started in the first quarter of 2011 saw a 13 per cent year-on-year increase.
