Companies 'are seeing more benefits to hiring interim managers'

UK firms are increasingly seeing the benefits of interim executive recruitment due to the business advantages it can provide.

This is according to Tara Daynes, HR and training consultant and member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, who stated that interim staff represent a "flexible skilled resource".

According to the expert, interim executives can be used to fill temporary gaps caused by issues such as maternity leave, as they are available at short notice, self-sufficient and experienced in various industry sectors.

This can be of particular use to companies that are undergoing periods of change and development, such as those setting up new business units, restructuring their operations or engaging in merger and acquisition activity.

Ms Daynes added: "They can also contribute to the learning and development of existing staff members - passing on some of their expertise along the way."

This comes after a report from the Institute of Interim Management earlier this week revealed that interim management recruitment has returned to growth in the last year.
