S-J Leatherdale, is a Partner and Head of Odgers Interim’s Health Practice. She works closely with her colleagues in our Search business, Odgers Berndtson, to provide a comprehensive recruitment service across all disciplines – including appointments to the Management Board who build capacity in acute trusts, mental health and community trusts, clinical commissioning groups, commissioning support units, regulatory bodies, independent providers and public health both on a local and national level.

S-J is also responsible for our Life Sciences and Private Healthcare practice where, with her team, she supports Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, telehealth and personalised medicine companies as well as the Private Healthcare and Care Home arena find, highly experienced functional and technical candidates to meet their requirements.

The demands of these two diverse sectors are varied, ranging from the complete Board of Directors - Chief Executive Officers, Directors of Finance, Directors of Nursing and Governance specialists to Commissioners, Accountable Officers , Chief Development Officers, Clinical Development Directors/Hospital Directors to General Managers.

S-J also helps her clients to find experienced Interim Executive’s across the full range of corporate/functional roles as well as Programme, Transformation & Turnaround and Project & Strategic Managers/Directors.

S-J is a highly experienced recruiter with over twenty years’ experience across a variety of sectors, including financial services. S-J started her career in the UK before moving overseas to work in Hong Kong and across Asia Pacific. On returning to London, she took on an HR role in Local Government, which gave her a much broader understanding of interim in-house needs, before being tempted back into recruitment by Odgers Berndtson.

S-J grew up in Tokyo and was educated at the International School of the Sacred Heart. She gained a full tennis scholarship in West Palm Beach Community College, USA. S-J has also served as a member of the Child Protection, Adults at Risk Committee for the Lawn Tennis Association, over several years. She has a good command of Japanese and considers oriental culture to be a big part of her life. S-J’s other interests include a continued passion for sport, travel and for current affairs.
