Outsourcing 'can offer benefits beyond cost reduction'
Outsourcing business processes such as human resources (HR) can unlock numerous benefits beyond simply minimising costs.
This is according to Jill Goldstein, senior manager of HR outsourcing at management consultancy Accenture, who told HR Magazine that partnerships with external providers can actively generate revenue increases if deployed correctly.
By outsourcing business functions in which companies lack expertise or existing infrastructure, they will be able not only to support clients in new markets, but also up-skill segments within their own business.
Ms Goldstein said the implementation of "proven, effective processes" within the context of a global delivery model can ultimately help to improve workforce performance and drive growth.
"It can also help clients create competitive advantage by forecasting and fulfilling talent needs and aligning talent plans, workforce capabilities and employee performance with business strategy," she added.
In September 2011, information services company TPI published research showing that outsourcing saw a rise in popularity last year on a global level.
