Assignment Description
Working to one of 5 directorates on improving category management process. The council like many others is engaged in a cost cutting programme so along with the officers in the directorate you will be working on strategies that tighten the procurement activity and bring new thinking to category management.
Person Specification:
Along with significant procurement experience, the head of procurement is also looking for a good blend of commercial and public sector experience some of which must have been gained in local government.
Specific experience of working in:
- Adult social care
- Children’s services
- ICT
- Highways
Proposed length of Assignment: Likely to be a 12 month interim role
Start Date: July 2010
