S-J Leatherdale joined Odgers Interim in July 2006; she is a Partner in the Education & Health Practice and is based in the London office. She works closely with colleagues in the search practice to provide a comprehensive recruitment service in : Education; Early Years, Primary & Secondary, International Language Schools, Examining Boards /Awarding Bodies, Regulatory Bodies, Skill Councils, Children, Youth & Adults Social Care sectors. She is also involved extensively within the Safeguarding & Leaving Care arena as well as Fostering / Adoption, Learning Disabilities and the SEN policy.
In Health, where SJ leads the team, she manages the appointments of interim executives and clinical directors, who build capacity in acute trusts, primary care trusts, regulatory bodies, independent providers and public health.
The demands of both these diverse “sector” markets are varied ranging from the provision of Education Partners, Skills specialists to Commissioners and S-J recruits across the full range of corporate/functional roles as well as Programme, Project, Strategic Managers/Directors.
S-J has fifteeen years commercial recruitment experience across a variety of sectors including financial services. S-J started her career in the UK before moving overseas to work in Hong Kong and across Asia Pacific. On returning to London, S-J broadened her recruitment skills by taking on a Human Resources role in Local Government before being tempted back into recruitment by Odgers Berndtson.
S-J grew up in Tokyo and was educated at the International School of the Sacred Heart. She gained a full tennis scholarship in West Palm Beach Community College, USA. In 2011 – S-J joined the Child Protection Safeguarding Committee for the Lawn Tennis Association. She has a good command of Japanese and considers oriental culture to be a big part of her life. S-J’s other interests include a continued passion for sport, travel and for current affairs.
