Peter Buffoni is a Principal Consultant within Odgers Interim with particular responsibility for Life Sciences and Central Government. Based in London Peter has a broad range of experience in commercial and public sector work.
Peter has taken an unconventional route into recruitment. He began his career in the police and served for over ten years both in the UK and internationally. He spent time in the military before working for the English Sports Council where he was responsible for monitoring the then £150m annual lottery sports fund spend. He has direct experience of working closely with scientists and academics from his time as the National Manager for Great Britain’s Olympic Canoe Sport Science Programme. This included building close working relationships with bio-mechanists, physiologists, nutritionists and psychologists to help ensure a successful inter-disciplinary (rather than multi-disciplinary) approach to Olympic sport science support.
In 2001 Peter was approached to join PricewaterhouseCoopers’ executive search business. He has significant experience recruiting for senior roles and has worked specifically in providing interim management solutions since 2008.
Peter has a Masters in Sports Management (which was awarded with distinction). During his career he spent time as a professional swimming coach, scuba diving instructor and Royal Yachting Association first aid instructor and maintains a keen interest in sport.

I have worked closely with Peter over the past 18 months in my role as Head of Recruitment for a national organisation. He has supplied several interims for the organisation all of whom have been of an excellent calibre and all of which have received at least one contract extension. Peter is able to translate the outline resourcing brief into a range of viable candidates and has proven to be flexible and considered in his approach to candidates and contracting arrangements. I have very much enjoyed working with Peter - he is customer focused, straight forward, efficient and a pleasure to work with.
